Fall Sessions 2026

Fall Sessions Are Open, And This Is My Favorite Light All Year

I say this every single year and I mean it every single year, fall light in St. Louis does something that no other season does, it comes in low and gold in the late afternoon and it makes everybody look like the best version of themselves without trying, and that matters more than people think it does when your family has spent a summer just trying to survive the schedule change and the mood swings and the last minute meltdowns over shoes.

So here is where I want to start, before we talk about dates or booking or any of that. Fall sessions with me are not about getting the perfect Christmas card photo, though you will absolutely get one. They are calm by design, not just pretty leaves in the background, I mean actually calm, we move at your kid’s pace, we build in the breaks before anyone even needs them yet, we are not chasing a magazine cover here, we are chasing the real ones, the ones where your kid is actually looking like your kid and not like a kid who is being forced to hold a smile for a countdown of three.

If you have a neurodivergent kid, and if you found this page you probably do, you already know what I mean when I say most sessions are built for a kid who does not exist. Stand here, look there, hold still, say cheese, again, again, again. That is not how we do this. I already get it, because I have lived it, sixteen years of it now, and every single thing I have learned about slowing down and reading the room and letting a moment be what it actually is instead of what I planned for it to be, that all comes from being a parent first and a photographer second.

Both things can be true here too. Sessions can be genuinely joyful and also genuinely hard some days, and I am not going to pretend that is not real.

What I can promise is that there is room for whichever one shows up. If your kid needs five extra minutes before the camera even comes out, we have five extra minutes. If today is a good day and everything clicks, we are going to catch every bit of that too. I have learned, through a lot of trial and a lot of grace I did not always feel like I deserved, that the real moment is always worth more than the perfect one.

Fall books up fast, not because I am trying to create urgency, but because there really are only so many good light evenings between now and the leaves being gone. If this has been sitting on your list, if you have been meaning to get this family in front of a camera before another year slips by, this is your sign to actually grab the date instead of thinking about grabbing the date.

You can see current pricing here, and you can find a time that works for your family here. And if you are not sure yet whether this is the right fit, that is exactly what the contact page is for, no pressure, just a real conversation first.

Whatever season your family is in right now, hard or easy or somewhere tangled in between, I would be honored to walk alongside you through this one too.
